FIRST IMPRESSIONS, PERMISSIONS + OPT-OUTS
May. 20th, 2022 12:18 am ☄ First Impressions ♚ VISUAL: Standing at approximately 5'9" and with a somewhat slender build, Shin isn't particularly imposing, nor does he really stand out that much with his quiet demeanor. With short black hair and a pale complexion, his most striking feature up close is his blood-red eyes, which others often describe as indifferent at the best of times and icy otherwise. He also has a couple of faint scars above his left eye and on his right ear, respectively. Clothing-wise, Shin will arrive in the game wearing a gray military uniform decked out with an (empty) holster for his gun at his waist. Anyone who looks closer (or just happens to be at the right angle, honestly), may notice a hint of red discoloration on his neck peeking out from under the collar of his dress shirt though. ♚ FASHION: On a typical day, he would probably be found in his uniform, but he will swap out for other clothes if they're available, even if only because he does need to get things washed now and then. However, he typically goes for comfort over style, favoring high neck tops and clothes with high collars, although he will sometimes don a scarf instead. As far as colors go, he favors darker or neutral ones over anything excessively bright because who needs that. ♚ DEMEANOUR: Taciturn at best and icy at worst, Shin is rather aloof to say the least, although this largely stems from his complete lack of interest in most things rather than any real dislike for whoever may be talking to him. It's not entirely unusual for him to just tune people out or straight up ignore them even if they're speaking right at him, but he can hold a conversation... sometimes. Those who do manage to elicit responses from him will typically receive curt, blunt answers, although he is capable of conversing at length the more he knows someone. ♚ SOUND: His Japanese VA is Shoya Chiba and his English VA is Billy Kametz. I tend to go more for Shoya Chiba's take on him because he does a great job of conveying Shin's calm indifference to most things. ♚ SCENT: Plain soap, possibly coffee?! He at least knows how to take care of himself, even if he doesn't really do anything fancy. ♚ MAGICAL INFORMATION:N/A ☄ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: I prioritize the current week's threads, but I'll always try and backtag as much as possible! Also, if there's a thread I dropped and you'd like to pick it up again, feel free to contact me then too! ♚ FOURTHWALLING: I'd prefer not! ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Sure?! His reaction will definitely depend on who it is and what's happening, but he won't headbutt someone away or anything. More likely than not, it'll be a Look but if it's coming from someone he considers close to him, he'll probably let them do whatever without comment. ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Sure! He's noted to be fairly slender in build but he's pretty strong despite that and his reflexes and hand-to-hand technique are excellent. With that said, it's not like he's invincible or anything and people with more skill and experience can definitely take him down. He won't start fights himself, but he will definitely retaliate if someone comes at him. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: OOCly I am down for it! Just note that ICly he does have someone he's interested in (although they aren't in a relationship), but I'm happy to see where the CR goes if they've got chemistry! ☄ Opt-Outs ♚ SENSITIVE TOPICS: 86 is a canon about child soldiers that were forcibly interned and subsequently conscripted by their home country, which had stripped them of all human rights and freedoms. Large-scale systemic discrimination and the impacts of war are major themes in the series, so topics such as child abuse, bigotry, genocide, euthanasia and suicide/suicidal ideation could potentially come up in threads. Beyond that, he's seen people's bodies in various states of injury and mutilation while on the battlefield, so while he wouldn't go out of his way to describe everything in gory detail, he has no problem talking about any of it either. I will always include a CW if the conversation veers any of these directions, but please let me know if you'd rather opt-out of any of the topics mentioned above or if you would like to opt-out of interacting with Shin entirely!
